December is our last Kent Pets tournament, so to make it out on a high note this month’s competition will see all of the previously crowned winners go head to head.

This All-Star Final will see readers vote for their favorite winner, it’s going to be an uphill battle so every vote counts!

In this first round, four animals will be voted on by readers to advance to the second round – coming one step closer to becoming the pet of the month for December and the big winner of the contest.

For those new to the game, each month we’ve picked eight animals across Kent for readers to explore life and vote on who will be Kent’s Pet of the Month.

Each week, readers will vote on pairs of animals to move on to the next round until only one remains.

Albie is an all-white Alaskan Shepherd who won November’s Pet of the Month.

The playful dog has captured the hearts of our constituents with his cheeky demeanor.

His owner Kerri said: β€œWe’ve had times where he’s pushed his limits to see how cheeky he can be.

β€œThese include a time when I had just received a brand new pair of limited edition Nike sneakers, I absolutely loved them, but it looked like Albie did too.

“Overnight he was able to find said coaches and chew on their backs, but unfortunately he was just a coach he seemed to enjoy.”

Albie had also disappeared on one occasion while being looked after by his owner’s father, luckily he had just come to the kebab shop!

These are just a few stories shared by the owners of Albie who love the fluffy polar bear so much.

Ollie is a nine-year-old golden retriever who won the Pet of the Month for July.

His favorite things in the world are stuffed animals and he’s been known to put four teddy bears in his mouth at once.

Much like Albie, Ollie’s owners say he’s a bit of a shoe thief too.

However, Ollie never chews them but picks them up and stores them all in one place to lie down for extra comfort.

He should also always greet his owners at the door with a gift – which could be scarves, gloves, stolen shoes or sweaters.

His best friend is his master’s son, followed closely by Kitty the kitten, who sleeps snuggled up to him.

Mona is a four-year-old Shih Tzu crossbreed lurcher who won the Animal of the Month award for October.

Her favorite thing is to run in the woods with her mom and brother.

Mona also likes to snuggle up in her owner’s bed.

However, no amount of cuddling in bed can shake her hatred of having her fingernails cut.

Poppy the duprasi gerbil won the May Pet of the Month award.

Readers were blown away by her touching story of a loving family adopting her from a neglected home and now she is basking in the spotlight.

The gerbil remained overweight and with oversized bottom teeth in its last home when its owners grew tired of it.

After she and her mother, Amber, were rescued by their new family, she recovered and started enjoying playing again – more to do with her sandbox and hamster wheel.

Aurora the Dalmatian won the Pet of the Month for June.

Readers were struck by the charm, mischief, affection and energy of the mischievous puppy.

Aurora’s favorite things to do, running and climbing, managed to draw voters behind her, even if that meant she wasn’t preparing to counter-surf and loot the trash!

However, the Dalmatian is still afraid of the sea, but with hard love his family hopes to teach Aurora to love seaside waters.

Jimmy is a 12 year old King Charles cross cocker spaniel who won September’s Pet of the Month award.

His family brought him when he was only eight weeks old, although he still acts like a puppy, he forgets he can’t run as fast as he used to!

Jimmy’s family say he listens like a human when you talk to him and if you give him a piece of ham he will literally do anything.

His favorite toy is his honky pig and every time his owners buy him a new one, he bites the honker and stuffs it without fail.

Taffy is a five year old Welsh Collie who won the Pet of the Month for August.

He was chosen by his owners after meeting his sleeping father in a pub and kept in touch when he was sired for puppies.

Due to their encounter, Taffy’s human parents were given the first choice of the litter.

Now that he’s five years old and a father himself, Taffy’s owners say he has the best life ever.

His favorite game is going around in circles with a stick in his mouth and he loves chasing a ball on the beach.

Taffy is also a passionate footballer! He loves soccer fields where he always puts the ball in the net for the next kick.

Ziggy the Labrador

Ziggy the Labrador, who is also a skilled sniffer dog, won the April Pet of the Month.

When he’s not training hard to be the best in the business, Ziggy enjoys his free time with his family at home.

Besides boring his older brother, Louie the Cairn Terrier, eating ice cream and playing with his favorite car tire, Ziggy loves watching TV.

While her family usually doesn’t find it so relaxing, Ziggy will bark at any animal or even vehicle that appears on screen.

And when he’s finally exhausted, Ziggy takes a nap with his head resting on the closest pillow he can find.
